Is the New Infinix Hot 9 Play Worth your time?

Introducing the all-new Infinix Hot 9 Play

Infinix, a Chinese Mobile Phone brand widely popular in the Indian Mobile Phone market for its features that the phone provides on a low budget. Infinix Phones in Nepal are that well know in the mobile phone market because there have not been that many launches of the Infinix Phone in Nepal except the Infinix Smart 4. The Infinix Smart 4 didn’t make a lot of hype around it which led Infinix to back out from the Nepal Market.

But, Infinix is back again with their new Phone that will be launching soon in the Nepalese market soon i.e. the Infinix Hot 9 Play. And I have to say that this phone has some promising features for the price range that the phone falls under.

Display

The Infinix Hot 9 Play has an HD+ display. It is not a Full HD or a Full HD+ Plus display, but the screen looks good while doing some productivity or while watching YouTube or Netflix. It has a 6.82 inches IPS LCD panel with a base resolution of 720×1640 pixels.

The display is fairly bright and also has decent colors. It has somewhere around 82.4% screen-to-body ratio along with 263 PPI pixel density. Despite the fact of it being a 720p display, it does look great while using and you don’t feel the display is not a Full HD at all.

Performance

The Infinix Hot 9 Play features two different chipsets as the phone comes in two different variants. The Infinix Hot 9 Play features two different chipsets, the MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 and the MediaTek Helio A25. One of which is a quad-core CPU and the other one is an octa-core CPU. The 2/32GB variant of the phone comes with the MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 chipset in it and the 4/64GB variant of the phone comes with the MediaTek Helio A25 chipset.

The phone also comes with two different GPUs from PowerVR GE8300 and the PowerVR GE8320. The PowerVR GE8300 is used in the lower-end variant of the phone whereas the PowerVR GE8320 is used on the higher variant of the phone.

Camera

Talking about the camera setup of this phone, it has got a dual-camera setup on the back of the phone and a single front-facing selfie camera. Infinix has not mentioned the camera properly or which sensor the camera is using or where it was manufactured. As the phone is priced so low, most of the manufacturers don’t mention the name of the components used in their phones.

We only have an idea about the MP of the camera. One of the two cameras at the back is a 13 MP wide-angle lens and the other one is a QVGA low light sensor. And on the front of the phone, we have an 8MP selfie camera.

Battery

The Infinix Hot 9 Play has got a massive battery backup. It has a 6000 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery. As it has an HD+ display and most of the internals of the phone are not that demanding of the battery. The phone should last quite a while. Infinix has not made any claims on how long the battery is going to last as of now but in my opinion, it will definitely last a whole day of usage and still have some life left inside of it. And I say this again, it is not claimed by me, it is just an assumption.

The phone also has a fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone along with Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, compass, and a barometer. It runs on Android 10 Go with XOS 6.0 on top of it. XOS is a very unfamiliar UI and has not been used much.
