Xbox is Microsoft’s take on the gaming industry. It is a gaming console which was first released all the way back in 2001 and now has become one of the most powerful gaming console one can buy. As the decade came, so did the previously generation of gaming consoles, well not technically. Xbox One which was released in 2013, although being criticized for its poor reveal, was later acclaimed by a lot of people. Later the decade, Microsoft released a better and more powerful version of their 2013 Xbox One giving it the title of the most powerful gaming console, the Xbox One X (Discontinued).
Xbox Series X and Series S to be one to look out for.
Gaming consoles tend to have a lifespan of around 6 years or so. Since the Xbox One was released all the way back in 2013, it was time for a change, a massive change. Microsoft teased their new generation of consoles back in 2018, and was officially announced in late 2019. After that it was the internet. From various rumors to memes to god knows what were all over the internet, but the lack of a fixed released date bummed out many fans. Microsoft didn’t leave their fans bummed for too long as the official release date was unveiled. November the 10th of 2020.
10th November is the day when people can get their hands on the beast of a console. From the specs which was officially released has shown that Xbox hasn’t lost the title of the most powerful console to its competitors in the market. The latest Xbox which was firstly named Xbox Scarlett and was later changed to Xbox Series X comes with a 12 TFlops of Graphics and an 8 core AMD Zen 2 processor.
Design wise ,despite looking like a refrigerator it is an innovative design. Since all their previous consoles were close to a briefcase design, it is a nice change of pace. It does suit its pitch colors.
Along with the new Xbox Series X, Microsoft is also releasing their cheaper but lesser powerful version of Xbox Series X, The Xbox Series S. Similarly to Xbox One S, the new Xbox Series S is a digital only console with less powerful hardware compared to the new Xbox Series X.
The all-new Xbox Series S on design department follows the traditional compact briefcase design with a singular cooler cooling the whole system. It comes in an ice-white body color and black colors where the cooler is present.
Microsoft has already hyped the people with their new Xbox console, to hype people more Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and other many titles along with it is releasing alongside the Xbox. Nine days later, gamers can get their hands on the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 on the last gen as well as the new generation.
But is the new Xbox series X and the Series S worth it? The new consoles aren’t manufactured in large quantities and it might be the sole reason some buy the new consoles but buying the new Series X immediately after release when you have a Xbox one or Xbox one X is not quite recommended. As the games releasing in the future will also be supported for the previous generation, so one can go on with their Xbox One for a couple of years. But if you want 4k gaming with 120 fps, go ahead.
The all-new Xbox series X and Series S will be available on the 10th of November for 499$ for the Xbox Series X and 299$ for the Series S. For more information on the new Xbox Series X and Series S visit their official website through here, https://www.xbox.com/en-US/consoles/xbox-series-x
